How Much Does a Photo Booth Cost for Prom?

A professionally run prom photo booth typically costs $500 to $900 for the night. Our school packages start at $500 for a 3 hour portrait booth with studio lighting, an attendant, unlimited sessions, and prints in a custom layout with your school’s colors, which covers most proms start to finish.

We’ve run booths at proms, homecomings, and school dances across Acadiana, from Catholic school gyms to hotel ballrooms. Here’s how the budget works and what schools actually get.

What the price includes

• The portrait booth, $500 to $900 depending on print volume, with the Ultimate tier printing unlimited copies, the tier most proms choose, because every group wants their own print.
• A trained attendant all night. At a school dance this is non-negotiable: the attendant keeps the line moving, keeps the equipment safe, and keeps the booth school-appropriate.
• A custom layout designed in house around your theme and school colors, prom theme included.
• Delivery, setup, and teardown worked around your venue’s schedule, and a certificate of insurance, which most school districts and venues require from vendors.
• Instant delivery and a gallery. Students get photos on their phones, and the school gets the full gallery afterward. Per our standard policy for student events, delivery is for photos only; we don’t run marketing capture on students.

The upgrade choices

• The glam booth, $500 to $900: black and white, editorial, flattering. Prom is dressed-up by definition, and the glam look lands with students the same way it does at galas.
• The 360 booth, $900: the energy option; expect a line all night. Needs clear floor space, so tell us about the venue first.
• A second booth for big proms: a digital social booth from $350 as a fast lane next to the print booth keeps a 400 student prom from bottlenecking.

How schools pay for it

From working with student councils and prom committees across the area: the booth usually comes out of the prom budget at roughly $2 to $4 per ticket sold, and some schools offset it entirely with a sponsor, a local business logo on the print layout in exchange for covering the booth. That trade is standard at fundraisers, and it works just as well at prom.

Booking timing

Prom season compresses into a few spring Saturdays, and school dates compete with wedding season for the same equipment and staff. Schools that book in January get their date; schools that call in March get what’s left.
