Color vs. Black and White Photo Booth: Which Should You Choose?

Choose color when the event itself is the show: themed parties, brand activations, Mardi Gras, anywhere the decor and props carry the photo. What black and white actually does

Black and white isn’t just a filter; it’s a set of choices working together. The practical effects, from hundreds of events:

• Everyone looks good. Black and white is forgiving of red-faced dance floors, mixed lighting, and clashing outfits alike.
• The background disappears. A dim ballroom or a busy wall reads clean and intentional in monochrome.

What color does better

Color is the honest documentary mode. Choose it when the look of the event is the content:

• Themed events. Purple, green, and gold at a Mardi Gras ball, school colors at prom, holiday reds at the company party.
• Brand activations. Sponsors pay for their colors; monochrome erases them. Corporate booths almost always run color.
• Props-forward parties. Feather boas and oversized sunglasses are funnier in color. That’s science.

The wedding answer: both
